Gifted and Talented: Bethpage Schools has an extensive program for the Gifted and Talented. In the elementary schools, students are chosen to enter the Argonauts Program based on a combination of assessment scores (New York State, NWEA, Lexile), inView exam, and teacher recommendation. The Argonauts Program is for fourth and fifth graders and is based on the Jason Project. The program is facilitated in all three schools by Mrs. Marcis, who also works with all fourth and fifth grade classes and also orchestrates the 21st Century Scholars' Program. John F. Kennedy Middle School has accelerated classes in Mathematics and Science for students who are recommended and Bethpage High School offers Advanced Placement courses for students. The 21st Century Scholars' Program at all five schools offers many forms of enrichment in a variety of fields.
New York State Education Department: The State Education Department (SED) has many resources for parents to check out.
